2025 SEASON SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT

Alpine Bank is invested in a greener tomorrow. From reducing greenhouse gas emissions to safeguarding our trails, we value our natural environment and the responsible use of its resources. For over 20 years, Alpine Bank, member FDIC, has proudly supported Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV) in their mission to protect and restore our cherished public lands. We believe that thriving communities start with strong partnerships, and we are honored to stand alongside RFOV in preserving the natural beauty of the Roaring Fork Valley for generations to come.

LO MÁS DESTACADO DE LA 30.ª TEMPORADA

Maroon Creek Wetlands

Maroon Creek’s natural wetlands were drained for agricultural use in the late 1800s. Today, the restored area offers valuable plant and animal habitat, and provides a natural filter system for improving runoff storm water quality for the area. Maroon Creek Wetlands is a special place for RFOV, as we helped create it in our early years and have also returned over the decades to help maintain it.

Now, RFOV is turning 30, and to celebrate, we are returning to trails and open spaces where our volunteers and staff have made a tangible, lasting impact over the last 3 decades! At our second 30th anniversary project, we celebrate our history in the creation and multi-decadal stewardship of Maroon Creek Wetlands! Join us for a day of restoration projects in this beautiful wetlands in the heart of Aspen!

Programs for families

Juventud en la naturaleza

Last month, YIN students explored the Silt River Preserve, learning about its history, the wildlife it supports and ongoing restoration efforts led by Aspen Valley Land Trust. Participants harvested cottonwood cuttings to later be planted by RFOV volunteers, helping establish the next generation of native trees on the property.

The 2025/26 Youth in Nature cohort will be graduating from the program this month with a celebratory overnight at Rifle Gap State Park.

We look forward to welcoming next year's 25/26 cohort, who will begin with their orientation in June!
