Becca Schild
Directora ejecutiva
rschild@rfov.org
(ella)
Ben Sherman
Director de Educación

(él)
Ben has been with RFOV since January of 2019. He joined the team as an educator and became RFOV's Education Director in 2020. Ben oversees educational programming for youth and the wider community, from Spruce Up Your School to the year-round Youth in Nature program.
Susana Prieto-Bravo
Youth Education Coordinator
sprietobravo@rfov.org
Susana grew up and have lived most of her life in Colombia. She studied Biology and later completed a Master’s in Plant Sciences. About eight years ago, she took a temporary job in environmental education that completely changed her path. That experience helped her realize that she didn’t just love nature; she wanted to help others fall in love with it too.
She believe plants are some of the most beautiful and perfectly designed living beings on Earth, and that sense of wonder shapes everything she does. Her purpose is to help people build a real relationship with the natural world. She is convinced that when we truly know something and feel connected to it, we are much more likely to care for and protect it. For her, environmental education is about curiosity, observation, and creating meaningful experiences outdoors, enamorarse de la naturaleza.
She first came to Colorado for a seasonal position in 2023 and fell in love with the landscape and community. That experience inspired her to return with long-term plans, and she’s excited to now call the Roaring Fork Valley home. After living her whole life in large cities, moving to a small community feels like a new adventure, and she’s excited to become part of it.
When she’s not working, you’ll probably find her hiking (one of the big reasons she moved here!), watching movies, or doing puzzles.
Anna Wright
Instructor de campo
Anna’s love for conservation work and outdoor education stems from a childhood spent deep in the mountains of Northern Colorado scrambling up rock piles and making fairy homes. Her first jobs were on agriculture and trail crews in the NoCo area, instilling a deep affinity for community building through outdoor stewardship.
After falling in love with swinging a pulaski herself, she spent several seasons leading and coordinating youth and young adult trail crew programs in Colorado, Oregon, and Idaho. Anna has lived in the Roaring Fork valley for five winter seasons working in adaptive recreation. She sees many intersections of empowerment, leadership, and building capability in individuals through both stewardship and adaptive sports.
After a couple summer seasons off to travel, Anna is excited to join RFOV to become a more ingrained member of the communities we live and recreate in, and to get her feet back out on the trail.
Maddy Martin
Trail Crew Leader
Maddy grew up in New Hampshire and came to Colorado two years ago to work as an environmental educator on the Front Range. A country bumpkin at heart, she moved into the mountains because she missed dark night skies and being surrounded by trees. Maddy got involved in trail work when she joined AmeriCorps after graduating from college. She completed her first AmeriCorps term in New Hampshire, and then wanderlust brought her to California, where she served two six-month terms on a trail crew repairing sections of the PCT and trails along the northern California coast.
Sable Laudet
Assistant Trail Crew Leader
Sable grew up in the coastal woods of Washington state alongside Sasquatch, who taught Sable at a young age that it's cool to be a woodland hermit. After too many years of being cooped up inside to study and work, Sable finally upheaved its life and moved to California to pursue trail work with the CCC. Sable is a 2024 BCTP alum and has also served on Joshua Tree NP's trail crew. The love of building trails with community is what brings Sable back for another season. By fulfilling its duty to Kapwa, Sable finds purpose in promoting stewarding relationships between people and Earth.
Myles Williamson
Trail Crew Member
Myles graduated from Central Michigan University in 2023 with a double major bachelor's degree in biology (focused in evolution, ecology, and conservation) and psychology. After graduating, he worked at Wedgwood Christian Services Autism Center for Child Development in Grand Rapids, MI for a little over a year. Then in March of 2025 he moved out to Grand Junction, CO to work for Western Colorado Conservation Corps, doing a variety of conservation projects and working on their backcountry Rifle trail crew in partnership with the Rifle ranger district of the US Forest Service. This season he is excited to get out into the field to build high quality trail features.
Gabby Norby
Trail Crew Member
Gabby was born and raised in Colorado, earning her Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Recreation Industry Studies with a minor in Spanish and International Studies through Colorado Mesa University (CMU) in Grand Junction, CO. She has thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Spanish language and Latino culture through her studies and her time travelling to different Spanish-speaking countries. She highly values making connections with her community, bringing people outside, and making everyone feel welcome and included in outdoor spaces.
The bulk of her outdoor experience comes from working as a Trip Leader with the CMU Outdoor Program and the University of Maine, leading and co-leading, backpacking, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, canoeing, and rafting trips. Additionally, she thoroughly enjoyed her time working on the Recreation Management crew with the U.S. Forest Service, clearing trails with chainsaws, working with pack horses, and doing other trail maintenance projects. Some of her hobbies include going to the gym, making jewelry, rock climbing, riding her bike, and finding dogs to say hi to whenever possible.
Ayden Richmond
Trail Crew Member
Ayden grew up in both the Roaring Fork and Crystal River Valleys and graduated from RFHS in 2021. In high school, she worked 2 summers with RMYC doing trail work in different parts of Colorado with 10-13 other high schoolers. After graduating high school she moved to Thousand Oaks, CA to go to school at California Lutheran University where she pursued two degrees as a first generation college student. In May of 2025, she graduated with her B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice and a B.A. in Psychology. Throughout college she worked 3 different summers at Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp as a counselor and offsite trail guide where she lead high school backpacking trips and urban service projects in Denver. She also worked as a counselor for Camp HOPE in 2024 — a nonprofit camp that mentors campers who have experienced family violence. After graduating, she worked another summer season at Sky Ranch then as a fall camp host before moving back home to the valley.
