Reflecting on our foundations, the 2026 - 2030 RFOV Strategic Plan includes goals for stewardship planning, coordination, implementation, and education, the progress of which will be re-evaluated and communicated publicly on an annual basis.

Strategic Commitments

Empower people with the ethic and tools to actively care for our shared outdoors.

Foster a thriving community united in stewarding our shared outdoors through strengthening partnerships and collaboration.

Inspire and empower the next generation of land stewards in our region’s youth.

Support land managers and partners to promote healthy and resilient landscapes.


Over the next 5 years we aspire to accomplish:

  • Mobilize 2,000 volunteers annually

  • Empower and educate 1,500 youth per year

  • Dedicate 42,500 volunteer hours and another 26,500 staff hours towards stewarding public lands (8,000-8,500 volunteer hours and 5,300 staff hours per year)

  • Build a community of 1,000 members/donors committed to stewardship

  • Maintain 200 miles of trail (40 per year)

  • Restore 250 acres of natural area (50 per year)

  • Reduce the threat of wildfire on 50 acres (10 per year)
