RFOV’s Impact: Work You Can Trust

RFOV strives to deliver high-quality results on the land while creating a fun, educational, and rewarding experience for our participants. Our mission and programs benefit the land, the community, and the people.

We support land managers and partners to create healthy and resilient landscapes

We build a stronger community through collaboration and collective action

We promote individual well-being by empowering people to actively care for and connect with the natural world

RFOV prides itself on being accountable to our partners and donors who make this work possible. We measure our on-the-ground impact after each workday using over 30 quantitative metrics such as area of natural space restored, number of plants planted, area of invasive species removed, area of fuels reduced, miles of trail maintained/built/closed, number of drainage structures installed/maintained, number of steps installed/maintained, etc, total volunteers/students present and total volunteer hours completed. We also measure volunteer and partner outcomes through post-project surveys and follow-up meetings.

Partners in Impact

Our impact is strengthened through collaboration. Our organizational partners—public agencies, nonprofit allies, schools, and local businesses—help make long-term stewardship possible across the Roaring Fork Valley. Together, we combine resources, expertise, and shared values to restore ecosystems, care for trails, educate the next generation of stewards, and expand the reach of community-powered conservation. These partnerships allow our work to go further, last longer, and respond meaningfully to the needs of the land and the people who care for it.
