Sustainable Recreation

Physically Strenuous

One of the most visited tourist destinations in the state of Colorado, Hanging Lake Trail was heavily damaged by the Grizzly Creek wildfire in 2020 and subsequent flooding during the summer of 2021. For the first time since 2021, RFOV Volunteers have the opportunity to continue the long term stewardship of the Hanging Lake Trail. Projects will include various trail maintenance and restoration activities.

Registration: All participants of all ages must be registered individually.

Waiver: All participants must complete a waiver.

Cancellation: It takes a lot of staff and project partner time to plan and organize volunteer events. If you need to cancel, we ask that you let us know by emailing info@rfov.org 48 hours in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Worksite Location: This project will take place at worksites between 0.5 and 1.5 miles away from the parking lot that will require volunteers to traverse over steep and rocky terrain.
