The CMC Spring Valley campus integrates recreation, restoration and education. Come help us care for their publicly accessible natural areas by spending a day removing invasive thistles. After a warm day in the sun, we'll end the day with cold, refreshing lemonade made from the thistles we remove.

All volunteers will receive a coupon from Pollinator Chocolate in Carbondale for a free beer or chocolate soda. Thank you Mark Burrows and team at the Cocoa Club!

Childcare will be available at this project for parents who would like to attend with young children.

  • For ages 4 - 8; free; on-site; for all interested parents and guardians who would like to attend as volunteers

  • Offered for the first half of the project day - 9am-12:30pm

  • Activities will include a scavenger hunt, coloring, building and art with natural materials, games, and structured nature play

  • If minimum registration for childcare is not met by June 7, registrants will be notified of the childcare cancelation via email

Registration: All participants of all ages must be registered individually.

Waiver: All participants must complete a waiver.

Cancellation: It takes a lot of staff and project partner time to plan and organize volunteer events. If you need to cancel, we ask that you let us know by emailing info@rfov.org 48 hours in advance so we can plan accordingly.
