Additional Volunteer Projects with Partners in 2011:

RIVER CLEANUP
VOLUNTEERS AND DONORS WANTED

Project organized by the Glenwood Springs River Commission

What: Trash cleanup along public riverbanks in Glenwood Springs

When: August 27, 2011, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a community barbecue afterwards

Where: Based at Two Rivers Park. A city van will be available to shuttle volunteers to and from cleanup sites.

Why: A clean river is a healthy river. Everyone enjoys visiting the riverbanks more if they’re not covered with litter.

Who: Anyone can volunteer. Let us know you’re coming, so we can plan food and drinks. Contacts below. We’re suggesting that businesses and organizations send teams of volunteers, but individuals are just as welcome.

If your business or organization can send a team of four volunteers (three or five would work, too) or would like to make a cash or in-kind donation, or maybe a prize for a drawing, please contact one of the following River Commissioners:

Chris Geiger, chrisg@balcombgreen.com
Christian Romeyn, chris.romeyn@riverrestoration.org
Jeremy Heiman, chairman, axolotl@sopris.net, 456-2686
