Since 1995, RFOV has:
· Completed 142 projects
· Engaged over 13,100 volunteers, including 1,400 youth
· Repaired and improved more than 246 miles of trail
· Built 27 miles of new trail
· Planted 11,200 trees & shrubs and 11 acres of wetlands
· Completed projects worth several million dollars in value to our trails and public lands
· Had at least two couples meet on a RFOV project and get married
RFOV currently has:
· 430 individual & family members, the most in RFOV’s history
· 15 groups involved in our Group Work Day and Adopt-A-Trail programs, also a record high
· 40 volunteer Crew Leaders
· 65 volunteers serving on 7 committees
· A staff of four: 1 full-time ED, 1 part-time programs & administrative assistant, 1 part-time development coordinator, and 1 part-time, seasonal field coordinator
· A budget of $300,000, up from $200,000 in 2009
· Support consisting of Gov’t/land management agencies: 35%, Individuals: 25%, Foundations: 20%, Businesses/orgs: 20%
· 54 days scheduled in the field with volunteers, up from 23 in 2009
Other Facts
· RFOV was founded in 1995 (has been going strong for 16 years)
· It performs trail and restoration projects on public lands in the Roaring Fork, Crystal, Fryingpan & Colorado River Valleys
· In a typical year we conduct 10-12 projects, some lasting several days, and oversee a dozen or so groups (including school classes, businesses and non-profits) on outdoor service projects
· For every “hard” dollar that RFOV receives, $3-4 in value goes back to our trails and public lands
· RFOV's signature event, the Town to Town Tour, a cross-country ski tour from Aspen to Basalt, made its debut in 2008 and has been a great new community event, drawing up to 360 participants and volunteers its first three years
