With federal trail budgets being cut drastically and local governments' minimal maintenance programs, very few resources and personnel are actually out working to maintain our trails, riverbanks, and open spaces. Citizen involvement is needed to supplement and expand government programs if we are going to maintain what we have into the future. A further step towards greater citizen involvement, and one that is sorely needed, is to have organizations, like yours, sponsor an adopt-a-trail group.
RFOV works with small groups of volunteers who perform at least two days a year of on-going maintenance to a specific portion of public land. If you believe your business, club, or group can make this commitment to stewardship, please get in touch with RFOV.
